Description
The South West Scotland Grassland Society, founded in 1962, exists to promote good grassland farming amongst its members. Grass is by far the most important crop and source of primary production in the West of Scotland. The Society aims to identify the opportunities for improved grassland management on farms. This includes all aspects from silage making, grazing to environmental considerations.
It does this by holding evening meetings, farm walks, by running competitions and circulating grassland literature. Organisation is by an Executive Committee with a farmer chairman and local farmer representatives.
