The Group manages the Joseph Tomson Local Heritage Centre which is based in the cottage that the Victorian African Exploere Joseph Thomson was born. The cottage also houses local heritage inforemation of the three communities of Penpoint, Keir and Tynron. The cottage has some interesting architectural aspects such as the cantilever staircase and the armoury, both built by Joseph Thomson's father who was a master stonemason.
