Description

Provides a focus for interests in all antiquarian, archaelogical, historical, genealogical and natural history for Dumfries and Galloway and surrounding areas. There is a series of winter evening lecture meetings. The Society also publishes annually a volume of transactions which is issued free to members, with copies lodged in the regions schools and museums.
